Anointed & Appointed - Original Painting

Peacocks are symbolic for many things such as new beginnings, divinity, good fortune and confidence to name a few. The woman’s posture and even her hair match the energy behind what a peacock represents, and I couldn’t think of a better name to give her.

🔸Anointed means to nominate or choose (someone) as successor to or leading candidate for a position. The anointing is a sign of God’s blessing and favor upon someone, and it gives them the power of the Holy Spirit to do His work.

🔸Appointed means to be decided on beforehand; designated for a specific time or place. It also means to be put in position in order to function fully and accomplish a task. Examples of this embodiment would be the likes of a king, queen or even a disciple.

In this portrait, the light coming from God shines on her and illuminates her ✨crown✨ both anointing and appointing her for what she has been called to. Her gaze appears to me as if she’s looking towards the future and ready to take on what’s ahead.
